no bets yet but setting up for a couple depending on the weather ~~:<<
Columbus vs Real Salt Lake
- this match screams goals to me but the weather radar for Columbus isn't too flattering. At the time of this writing they are in a lull, between storms, but a massive storm is headed their way and, if the weather.com futures map is to be believed, it will last the whole match. Both teams have issues on defense though Columbus have had 2 weeks to figure it out while RSL have been travelling extensively. Cbus have played 4 matches in 2010, scored 2 goals in all of them, but allowed 2-3 goals in 3 of them. Only Toronto was held scoreless in the home opener. It isn't just goals either as the Crew are giving up a lot of chance, and even Dallas hit them for 17 shots Similar stuff for RSL. They shutout San Jose, 3-0, to start the year then allowed 2 each in the following 3 MLS games. In Houston their starting defender Olave gave up two penalties, both converted, then LA put 17 shots at them last week. nice h2h for goals as well with 4 of last 5 ending with 3+ including two 5 goal affairs. Weather has me holding off for this for a few more hours
Chicago vs Houston
- this match smells of draw though both teams played really well last match. Chicago dominated DC for most of the game and took a fully deserved 3 points in a match much more offensive than 2-0. Houston, in a match much more defensive than 3-0, hammered Chivas USA with 2 goals early that came out of nothing. IMO this will be boring 0-0 or 1-1 as Chicago are dreadful at home and 0-1-7 L8 at home to Texas teams. Houston with a result in 4 straight road matches and have not lost by more than 1 goal in 22 roadies. They play very solid defense on road and -150 for a half goal head start and the under are both on my radar. Bridgeview weather not looking quite as ominous as Columbus but some storms will certainly hit during match.
will be back if either become an official bet
other thoughts:
LA at KC - LA rolling and great record at KC but the Wizards showing decent to start the year. Awful mistake last week in stoppage allowing a goal off a Seattle throw-in but this is first match against a real title contender. LA are league's top road team losing something like 3 of their last 17, so very strong at getting results. Wouldn't be surprised if this drew along with NE match, Chicago match, and well any game today really
